IUAA Phoenix Chapter

Meet us on Thursday, March 25 at the March Hoosier Happy Hour for some Hoosier networking and a cocktail or two.

We’re going to shake things up and meet at Trader Vic’s at the Hotel Valley Ho, 6850 E Main Street in Scottsdale.

The festivities will start at 5:00.

The Phoenix Chapter of the IU Alumni Association is excited to announce a monthly nine-hole golf league. The first event will be March 4 at 3:30 p.m. at Grayhawk Golf Club, 8620 E. Thompson Peak Parkway, Scottsdale (480) 502-1800.

The cost is $45 for IUAA members and $50 for nonmembers.  The price includes practice balls, golf cart, and appetizers.  There will be a no host bar and prizes after golf.

Come join your fellow Hoosiers on March 11 at Postino on Central/Camelback for a night of wine tasting!  We’ll have a special “Cream & Crimson” flight in spirit of IU!  Meet old friends and make new ones while enjoying wine and light appetizers.

This is sure to be a popular event, and space is limited, so please RSVP as soon as possible.  The deadline to RSVP is March 4.

Discounted entry may be purchased here using a credit card or PayPal, at the rate of $10 for members and $15 for non-members.  If you’d rather pay at the door, tickets will be $15 for members and $20 for non-members.  Even if you do not purchase tickets online, please RSVP to iuaaphoenix@alumni.iu.edu by March 4!

Join your fellow Phoenix Hoosiers as we welcome our special guest, IU Basketball Hall-of-Famer John Laskowski, to cheer on the Hoosiers against Minnesota on February 20.

The festivities will begin at 5:30 at Upper Deck Sports Grill in downtown Scottsdale.  We’ll raffle off some IU gear and hopefully witness a Hoosiers victory!

John will share some of his experiences at halftime of the game.  If you only attend one watch party this year…make it this one!

Join other IU alumni, family and friends on Saturday, February 13 at noon for some IU hoops!

Watch the Indiana Hoosiers take on the Badgers of Wisconsin at Upper Deck Sports Grill in Downtown Scottsdale.  There is plenty of room for you, your family and other Hoosier fans upstairs with multiple TVs.  We’ll raffle off IU gear and prizes, too.  If you enjoy Nick’s Sink The Biz, we will again have a bucket or two available for play!

Please join us on February 17 at our second monthly Hoosier Happy Hour for an after-work cocktail and Hoosier networking.

We will meet again at The Vig at 5:00 and we’ll go until 7:00.  Come early to receive a drink ticket or two!

The Vig is located at 4041 N 40th Street in Phoenix (SE corner of Indian School and 40th Street).  Their website is http://www.thevig.us.

Several volunteers are needed to help check in and distribute badges for the upcoming reception with IU President Michael A. McRobbie.  This is a great opportunity to interact with fellow alumni and represent the Phoenix chapter.

The IUAA Phoenix Chapter will also maintain a table to promote membership and upcoming events.  We’ll need several volunteers to help with that effort as well.

Can’t seem to find anyone in Phoenix who knows how to play Euchre?  Your fellow Hoosiers do!

Please join us for a tournament that will benefit you and your favorite charity! Bring a partner or come alone and we’ll find one for you. $10 buy in per person, 50% of money goes to winning team, 50% to charity of your choice.  Tournament will kick off at half time of the IU vs. Illinois basketball game on January 30, which begins at 12:00pm!

The Watch party and Euchre tournament will be held at Upper Deck Sports Grill in Scottsdale. You don’t want to miss this!  Please RSVP to iuaaphoenix@alumni.iu.edu by 1/28/10.
